A Mere Paws

We're Baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Some of you might have noticed that A Mere Paws has been on hiatus for a while. To others the whole "we're baaaack" thing might not make much sense, but here's the explanation.

For six years we sent this newsletter out to clients, vendors, friends (and enemies). Our goal has always been to provide useful information in our areas of expertise — graphic and web design, administration and organization, etc. We always made sure to do this in a way that didn't annoy or offend (some might say we had mixed results here), and at the same time keep the whole thing lighthearted and fun.

In the past year we relocated to New Orleans, and while we still have a lot of contacts back in Pennsylvania, we've made a lot of new friends here and have new clients as well. So we figured we'd drag this old wagon out of the barn, slap on a new coat of paint and — Ta Da! A Mere Paws version 2.0.

We'll have some minor changes in format: this incarnation of A Mere Paws will be shorter (and sweeter), and will come out more often. This is good news to those of you who chose to unsubscribe — you'll be missing A Mere Paws more often than ever — bonus!

So — all hands on deck, we're cranking up the volume, clear your inboxes and get ready to enjoy newsletters where no man has enjoyed them before! (we don't just mix our metaphors, we blenderize 'em). Stay tuned.

hiatus [hahy-ey-tuhs]

  1. A break or gap where something is missing (especially in manuscripts)
  2. A break or interruption in continuity
  3. A time when everyone says "I'm really enjoying not getting A Mere Paws anymore."

A Mere Paws

The Ravenous Dilettante

Recipe of the Week was one of the most popular features in past issues of A Mere Paws, of course standards for popularity are relative. This time we're going to change things up a bit.

Lemon MeringueSince moving to New Orleans a whole new world of cuisine has opened up to us, this is truly a food-lovers paradise. The Ravenous Dilettante will explore this paradise, with recipes, revues, and descriptions of all things (at least marginally) edible found in town and around the countryside.

In this issue we'll begin with a few general rules to get started:

  1. All recipes (from gumbo to lemon meringue pie) start with "first, make a roux."
  2. There are no other rules.

So join us in our so-tasty sojourn.
